From Ambition to Action - Together for an Innovative and Sustainable Europe The future is open. This is made remarkably clear by the coronavirus pandemic and the big challenges of our time such as climate change and social inequality. It is therefore more important than ever for us Europeans to act and shape our future together. Only joint action will help us solve the Covid-19 crisis. Only joint action will allow us to build a strong, innovative and sustainable Europe. The United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development defines ambitious goals (the SDGs) for our European future. Numerous initiatives of the Member States and the European Commission, including the European Green Deal, allow us to turn these goals into great opportunities for Europe. But in order to be able to take advantage of these opportunities, we must make full use of the potential of research and education. How this can be achieved will be discussed with high-ranking international guests at the “European Forum on Science & Education for Sustainability” on 6 October 2020, virtual event - live from Berlin to which you are cordially invited. The virtual Forum is being organised by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as a highlight of Germany’s Presidency of the Council of the EU. Anja Karliczek, Federal Minister of Education and Research, will open the forum, which will be held in an interactive digital format. We invite you to participate in the Forum and contribute to the discussion through our interactive formats. Have your say!
