ReMade@ARI Webinar: 'Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy'

2024 25 March

Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy uses sequences of ultra-short light pulses (with femto- to picosecond duration) to study dynamical processes in atoms, molecules, nanostructures and solids by measuring the photoinduced variations of sample absorption. This technique finds broad interdisciplinary applications ranging from physics to chemistry, biology and materials science. This seminar aims at providing a basic introduction to the principles of transient absorption and showing some examples of its applications. Speaker: Giulio Cerullo (POLIMI) Title: Ultrafast transient absorption spectroscopy Date: Thursday, 28 March 2024, 10:00am CET ReMade@ARI offers access to European labs for developing innovative, sustainable materials for a circular economy. The project involves analytical facilities, instrumentation, methods and the know-how to use them for advanced materials characterization. It provides scientists who are working on the design of new recyclable materials with analytical tools that enable them to explore the properties and the structure of their material in smallest details up to atomic resolution. Transnational access opportunities to various techniques, not only laser sciences, are provided by more than 45 access providing institutions. ReMade@ARI (REcyclable MAterials DEvelopment at Analytical Reserach Infrastructures) is funded by the EU Commission’s Horizon Europe programme and co-funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and by the Swiss State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation. POLIMI is one of the 11 Laserlab-Europe partners providing transnational access in ReMade@ARI: https://remade-project.eu/
