Innovation Award Laser Technology

Awarded by the ssociation Arbeitskreis Lasertechnik e.V. and the European Laser Institute ELI.
The Innovation Award Laser Technology is a European research prize awarded at 2-yearly intervals.

The award can be conferred on an individual researcher or on an entire project group, whose exceptional skills and dedicated work have led to an outstanding innovation in the field of laser technology. The scientific and technological projects in question must center on the use of laser light in materials processing and the methods of producing such light, and must furthermore be of demonstrable commercial value to industry. The media exposure associated with the award offers an opportunity to promote a wider public interest in the technological advances of laser technology.

Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis

Awarded by the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung for Outsatnding Innovative Work in Applied Laser Technologies
The Berthold Leibinger Innovationspreis honors scientists and developers who make advancements in the field of laser technology. Since 2000, the Berthold Leibinger Stiftung has given the award every two years for excellent research and development work on the application or generation of laser light.

It is one of the highest remunerated international innovation prizes for laser technology. Three prizes are handed out with a total of € 60,000, none of it earmarked for a specific purpose.

Nachwuchspreis Green Photonics


The use of light can contribute to a sustainable development, e.g. in the field of energy efficiency, protection of the environment, climate protection, etc.. Examples in the field of photonics range from efficient lasers in production, to optical metroloy and sensors, to energy-efficient lighting.
